Ear half deaf since childhood opened when people laid hands on and prayed in Jesus’ name.
"Since I was a kid, I have been half deaf in my left ear. I have typically had to do a combination of lip reading, listening or replaying the cadence and sounds in my mind to gather the words that someone had spoken. If that didn’t work, a lot of times I’d just ask people to repeat. The times it would be worst on my hearing was if I was trying to listen and there was additional noise on my right side. Then I’d hear the right side instead of the left.
"I met Obii at the Thursday night home group [of VCF Albany] at Jack and Phyllis’s home. I was trying to hear her but due to a lot of noise in the room with all the people I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. I felt bad because I couldn’t replay the cadence and recreate the words because I hadn’t become used to her sounds. I finally apologized and explained that it wasn’t her accent, it was my hearing. She quickly told me not to speak into it and that God wanted to heal me. Well the meeting started and after we were done, John and I had to leave and she asked me if we’d be coming next time because she wanted to pray for me. So the next week, nothing happened, we said hi…continued with the meeting and God was moving and speaking through all of us but nothing with my ear or prayer. I figured with normal life and all that things were busy and other topics had come up and it wasn’t something we’d deal with then. (yes, I thought it’d been forgotten but I’d had it for so long so it was not a big deal.)
"Well Obii was hearing God last night and said there was healing for last night. A woman came up for prayer and Obii started praying for her. John and I have family members who are in great need of prayer due to cancer and other tumors so I was praying for them and agreeing with Obii regarding God’s timing for healing. Well it was awesome because as I was praying I noticed that there was heat on the left side of my face around the ear and jaw area. I leaned into it thinking it was cool and God was in that spot of the room. Within a couple minutes Obii asked me if she could pray for me. She and a gentleman in the room laid hands on me and were praying. Well to try and make the long story a tad bit shorter, I wasn’t sure if it worked but it seemed to. So we all sat down and I noticed that my good ear was a little foggy; almost like a slight sheild was on it. By the end of the meeting I realized that I was listening to a conversation going on across the room (on the left) and that I could tune in to hear their words…not sounds, but words…but wait, there was a conversation going on in my right ear from the kitchen and I could hear their words too. I played a bit and tuned in back and forth! It was really amazing. Well when John and I got in his jeep, he turned on the heat and I looked alarmed because it sounded funny. It was really loud and I was concerned it was something else wrong with the Jeep. Nope, that’s how it always sounded. We then realized that I can hear fully! It’s totally cool and amazing! Big YAY’S for Obii and Huge YAY’S for God!!!"
